SUNSET BEACH
Sunset beach is located in Pacific Palisades, just South of the intersection of Sunset Boulevard and
Pacific Coast Highway. It is a few minutes away from Santa Monica and West Los Angeles.
This is the best learning spot in the Los Angeles area, therefore our usual class location. The waves
are soft and perfect for beginners. Many people surfing at Sunset are beginners, so you don't have to
feel intimidated.

Directions: From the end of the 10 Freeway or the Santa Monica Pier, go North on PCH about 4 miles to
Sunset Boulevard. Make a U-turn at the light, and go South about 400 yards. The meeting point is at the
top of the wooden stairs (between two blue portable toilets and the lifeguard tower), 400 yards South of
the intersection of Sunset Boulevard and Pacific Coast Highway.
Parking is usually not a problem, especially very early in the morning. There is free parking on the
ocean-side shoulder of PCH, between Sunset Boulevard and the Bel Air Bay Club. If you can't find
parking on PCH, there is paid parking in the Gladstones parking lot, just South of the restaurant
(entrance across from Sunset Boulevard). Please do respect the traffic signs, as illegal u-turns often
result in tickets.

TOPANGA STATE BEACH
Topanga State Beach is located at 18700 Pacific
Coast Highway in Malibu, just North of the
intersection of Topanga Canyon Boulevard and
Pacific Coast Highway. It is a few minutes North of
Sunset beach (see above for directions).
We meet in the Topanga State Beach parking lot,
directly across from the Reel Inn restaurant. The
parking entrance fee is $2-$6 depending on the
time of the day, but there is usually free parking
available on PCH alongside the parking lot.
